Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation into the Church, together with Baptism and Eucharist. Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seal or "confirm" the baptized in union with Christ and equip them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church. (CCC 1285 - "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence, they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.")
Confirmation in the Good Shepherd Pastorate is typically done in the sophomore year.
Special arrangments can be made for Catholics that need to complete their Sacraments of Initiation. For more information contact the Church Office.
